No Exit is the inventive and sometimes harrowing depiction of an afterlife in which three deceased characters are forced to spend eternity together as punishment for their sins. Through non-traditional use of space and lighting, the audience for this production of No Exit will come to find that they should expect the unexpected.
“Sartre challenges us to enter a world populated by only three people. In the UTC Theatre Company production, we are not approaching this classic play as a museum piece but as an active world populated by three strangers, three couches, and one door,” said Gaye Jeffers, the director of No Exit. “No Exit is a play that many people have read but few have actually seen on stage. So I’m excited to add to their knowledge of the play by creating a theatrical event in which our audience will experience No Exit. It will no longer be words on a page- but a living, breathing, battling journey of will and willpower.”
